Guild Meeting 10/11/11

It's October quilt guild meeting already...where did the last month go?

It's so fun to watch friends gather together, greeting one another with hugs and smiles.

Applique class met for the first time...

We can't wait to see what they make while learning new applique skills.

Quilters are always smiling...we're such a happy bunch!

Getting us to quiet down enough to begin the meeting is always a good trick...

Laurie reminds us of the Service project in two weeks. Thanks to all who have donated orphan blocks. We can't wait to see what you end up with. All five quilts will be machine quilted thanks to donated time from 5 very talented and gracious quilters! Plan on sewing from 10-3:00 on Oct 25th.

Meet Vonda Smith...she is new to the quilt guild.

A retired nurse, she has been sewing her whole life. In fact, she remembers making Barbie clothes when she was little...I think many of us did the same thing.

Do you wonder what cracked these two up while playing Musical Stash?

Kim will be teaching a pincushion class next month for the workshop.

We will be making these adorable pincushions.

Giggles seemed to be the theme for the day. Cheryl and Julie hold up their start to the Block of The Month Quilt,

Here are the Round Robin participants this year...

Using her magnifying glass, Leslie read off new clues for the Mystery Quilt...isn't she the cutest thing!

Here is the block from the first clue.

The next block is an hour glass block...mystery solved!

Everyone shared their mystery blocks so far...
Great job everyone...you are ambitious and inspiring!

Jolene has some great tips to teach us this year. This month we learned about bias binding.

 It must be folded correctly,

and then cut into strips. It was such a great tip to learn...thanks Jolene!

Leisa showed us the November wool project...

Be still my heart...the December pillow is gorgeous...can't wait to make this one!

SHOW AND SHARE

Fabulous quilts everyone...

See you all at the service project meeting in two weeks!
